Friday September 13 to Tuesday September 24 (Okemos)

Friday and Saturday
On Friday, I woke up with a nasty cold and cough, I may have caught a bug on the plane. I have not had a cold and felt this bad for a few years, I was also so tired. The following day I managed to get myself out to do some shopping which included Robitussin and Vick for my cough.

Sunday (15/9) to Tuesday (24/9)
For the next week, I have not felt very well at all although my cough did improve with the medication. Unfortunately, I gave the bug to Barbara and this meant she could not go to her mother’s 100th birthday party which was the whole point of me coming here for a second visit. I feel really bad about it especially as this is the first time for years that I have felt like this.

I have also experienced bouts of sweating mostly at night but sometimes during the day, it is not a pleasant bug at all!! I have been very tired, most days sleeping for a couple of hours during the day as well as at night!

It has been very disappointing as I had intended to build up my walking while I was here.

I was cheered up somewhat last Saturday when the All Blacks beat South Africa, the old foe, in the Rugby World Cup, being held in Japan at the moment.

I have watched quite a bit of TV to pass the time. I am a fan of Hallmark Movies and Mysteries but have also watched a lot of American Football. Although there is quite a lot I still do not understand I have come to appreciate some of the skills and athleticism of the players.

The weather has been warm although it has cooled somewhat this week. There has been some badly needed rain but probably not enough!

I have had plenty of cuddles with Fluffy, which has helped me a lot. The outside animals and birds here get very well fed, the chipmunks and squirrels are loading up for winter already, lol! Fluffy loves watching the outside action, especialy the fast moving chipmunks.

It is very early autumn so there is not much change in the foliage yet, just the occasional tree starting to show some colour.
