Saturday July 27 - Thursday August 1 (Bryan and on to Chicago)

Saturday
Lisa and Harry went to the Flea market, then onto the produce stall for more corn and other veggies and, finally, to Walmart in Wauseon. I stayed home and chilled out with Guido and Bruno.

Sunday
I did my final washing, or so I thought, and then chilled out. Lisa was busy preparing a lovely dinner for her and Harryʼs motherʼs birthdays. Harryʼs brother Martin also came round and it was a lovely evening. There was lots of laughter and the food was excellent. The ribs were lovely and tender, there were also french fries, tomato/cucumber/onion salad and sweet corn.

There was Prosecco sparkling wine to celebrate, my first alcohol on this trip, and after the blueberry crumb pie for dessert, there was warm Amaretto to finish, quite a meal!

Monday
Lisa took me to Bryan today for my final X-Ray and orthopaedic doctor visit. Things are progressing well with the fracture although there is some soft tissue damage on the outside of my wrist that is causing some discomfort. It will be about three months from the day of the accident until it is healed and strong again!

We then then popped in to see Amy, Nigel(Tabby and white), Oscar(Tripod, ginger and white), Levi(Ragdoll, so fluffy), Elfie(Black) and, of course, Willow(the dog). The latter was a bit damp from her pool so she had to wait to come in and see us, she was not happy about that and let us all know, lol!

I started my packing and made good progress.

Tuesday
I finished my packing by early afternoon, which was a good thing as it turned out. I had a couple of dizzy spells today and when I went to bed, it became worse, so bad that I vomited and did so on and off into the early hours. I still felt quite unwell in the morning and suspect it was a bout of Vertigo, I had one many years ago ad this felt similar. I did manage some sleep!

Wednesday
I managed to talk to Lisa before she went out to an appointment and she brought me an iced drink. I rested again and then managed to male it downstairs to put my last minute washing on. I returned to my room whilst the machine did itʼs thing and managed to eat half an apple! I then went down and had a shower while the clothes dried.

After emptying the dryer and placing the final items in my suitcase I went back up to my room to rest again. I was feeling a little better by this time although still had to be careful not to move too suddenly. Bruno and Guido kept me good company!

Lisa came back and was heading out again. I went up to bed and managed some sleep although Guido did come in and wake me up yowling around 3 pm, lol! When Lisa came back she brought me some anti nausea pills. I went downstairs and stayed for a couple of hours, Lisa made some lovely, tasty chicken broth with an egg stirred into it, I ate that with some dry toast.

Thursday

I was up at 5.30 am and Lisa took me to Bryan station, the train was on time, actually two minutes early! We did lose 25 minutes along the way but were only ten minutes late in Chicago! I was travelling from Bryan to East Lansing, via Chicago!

The redcap dropped me at the Metropolitan Lounge and I then went out to get a sandwich for later and my first hot drink in two days, you guessed it, a Starbucks, lol!
I started to feel a wee bit off but managed to get back to the lounge OK. Once sitting down I felt fine again.

I want to thank Lisa so much for her hospitality and running me round with my wrist, it was not what either of us really wanted but that is life. It was such a pity that I was not able to take her out for a lovely, late, birthday dinner!
