Steve was off to work, trucking, very early. I did my washing today and was able to hang my T-Shirts up in the laundry to dry as it is so warm!
I spent time with the cats before we headed out at 5.30 pm for Slaters baseball game at 6 pm! Well, we thought it was at 6 pm but it turns out it was at 7.45 pm, lol!
So we went to Jersey Mikes for a sub for tea and I grabbed a coffee from Starbucks on our way back to the baseball fields! Everyone gave poor Terri a hard time, lol! Steve had stayed home as the Aircon guy was calling in.
The Astros were playing the Red Sox and the latter were just that big bigger and it makes a difference at this level. The Astros lost 8 runs to 2.
It was a warm evening after another very warm day, since I have been here the temperatures have been 90 F +!
Tuesday
There was more cloud around today but it was still very warm. Gracie spent a lot of time on the chair with me today, she is a real love bug. Mattie joined us and Odi contemplated the leather chair, lol! Terri spent some time mowing grass this afternoon and I went for a wander up the road.
We are trying to find out where a cat has taken her three kittens. For two weeks she had them under the engine of a car of the people over the road, the poor lady had to get her husband to take her to work!We headed off at 5.30 pm to watch the Astros play their first game in the end of season tournament, this time the game was at 6 pm, lol!
They were playing the Cubs and in the first innings they really got bat to ball and bought 7 runners home. The opposition were of a similar size and it certainly made life easier, they eventually won 12 - 3.
On the way home I got my usual coffee and we went to Zaxby’s, almost next door to Starbucks, to get our tea. It was takeout so we headed home to eat it. Some of the cats scored a small amount of my chicken wings, lol!
Wednesday
The weather broke today with a really heavy downpour with thunder in the late morning and another in the afternoon. This meant that the scheduled baseball games for this evening were called off. It was still warm but the temperature had dropped a little.
I spent time with the cats and managed to have Autumn, Grace and Ru on the chair with me all at once, lol! I saw more of Bell today and she seems to be getting used to my voice, she did not run and hide so much! Terri spent some time brushing the cats and dogs! At the end, Autumn and Tanner were left wondering what had happenened, lol!
Terri was outside after tea, lovely one of pork chops, potatoes and onion fried together, yum, when she saw the mother cat heading to the next door barn. So we hopped in the car and went round there.
Of course, we took nothing with us, lol, very unprepared! We searched the area round the barns and Terri did have her flashlight to look underneath.
We then banged in the barn walls to see if that would rouse the kittens if they were there. No kittens!
Terri walked round one more time, Lo and behold, Kittens!! We saw all three, the little tuxie was the bravest but we also saw the two white ones.
We played with them with twigs and they were quite playful but we could not get them to come out far enough. We really need to catch all three or mum might move them again. It was quite a trip to move the three from the car to the barn! We will have to go back tomorrow, better prepared, and try to catch all three kittens. Then the challenge will be to trap the mother!
Thursday
It was another changeable day today although still warm, the huimdity was much higher today. Steve is still trucking as he has been all week, so we only see him in the late afternoon as he leves just after 5 am!
Straight after breakfast, we went over to the barn and the kittens were out a wee bit, playing. We saw the two white ones first but the tuxie did come out. Lois joined us kitten watching and Bobby did when he arrived home!
We then returned home to change as we were going to Winterville to check on the trap for Bear and do a wee it of shopping. There was no sign of Bear but we live in hope! We went to Walmart and I popped in to Food Lion but they did not have the Lemon/Lime ICE that I like. Of course, there was time for a coffee on the way home, lol!
it rained about 4.30 pm so we decided not to go to the baseball game. We had a bacon and egg fry up with warm bicuits for tea, yum!
After my shower, I popped my head nto the laundry to see Abbey in her bed, she was so funny and posed while i took some photos!
