Friday May 11 - Sunday May 13 (Ayden)

Friday
I had a good sleep and woke to another lovely day, it was very warm! After breakfast I enjoyed some kitty time and had a generally lazy day. We did pop out to the store later and also to get some strawberries from the farm not very far away!

Terri baked a sponge cake so that we could have strawberries and cake with whipped cream for dessert. We had hamburgers and cole slaw for tea and dessert was eaten later when we could enjoy it, lol!!

Saturday
It was early to rise today, well relatively lol, as we were off to see Slater's team, the Astros, play baseball against the White Socks, in the local recreational league.

Slater is Terri's nephew, her youngest brother is his father. It was very hot even at 10 am and a later game would have been very difficult!

Slater began pitching and he did well but, following the rules, he was taken out after 3 or 4 innings, he then played catcher.

The team did not do quite so well then and they let 4 in one innings when they seemed to lose focus in the field and, sadly, there was some sloppy play.

They were also having difficulty getting bat on ball which did not help. The opposition coach was very mouthy and at times looked angry and aggressive!

The highlight of the game, if you can calll it that, was when the opposition was about to score 3 more runs, the boy in the front missed tagging third base so he turned back and mayhem ensued, they went from 0 out to 3 out in a few seconds!!

I have never uite seen anyting like that before! The Astros did manage to put 2 runs on the board and the score was 7 - 2 when the game finished. i took many photos using the Sports setting on my camera for the first time!

All of us (Slater's Mum and Dad and grandparents, Steve, Terri and I) then went to Cheddars for lunch and I had the shrimp, they were delicious, certanly worth waiting for. Everything is cooked fresh so the food takes a bit longer to be served! We did a bit of shopping and I had a coffee on the way home and I then spent a lazy afternoon enjoying some kitty time.

None of use felt like eating tea after the lunch we had consumed so we just had dessert, lol, strawberries etc again.

Sunday
it was early to rise again to another very warm day and we were meeting Sonya, Chris, Maddison, Aiden and Sonya's folks at the Seahorse for breakfast. I had some French Toast wth bacon, it was an enjoyable meal, thanks very much to Chris!

We then went back to Chris and Sonya's place, there we saw the truck Chris bought for Sonya for Mother's Day. It need a lot of work but Sonya has always wanted to operate an Ice Cream truck, lol!!

On the way home, we picked up a few supplies at Piggly Wiggly as I was making an open omelet for tea! Of course, I also bought a coffee at Starbucks, lol, Terri and Steve had an ice Cream from the nearby Dairy Queen! I enjoyed some more kitty time when we returned home and then prepared the different ingredients for the omelet before sitting outside for a wee while to enjoy some sun.

Then it was time to cook tea, we were having home made french fries with the omelet but the frier decided it was not going to workk properly so the fries had to be cooked in a pan on the stove.

The omelet was half cooked and I had to wait to finish it under the broiler. However, it did not spoil and we had a lovely meal!

After tea, we went to pay a visit to some donkeys owned by friends of Steve and Terri, Sam and LoouTina. As we arrived Lulu was walking up from the cow paddock to greet us. She is pregnant to Jack but only about a month so a long way to go yet. We then met Jack and finally Tucker who is only about 8 months old, he loves to roll in the dirt, lol!

Sam then persuaded Terri to take me on a ride on his farm utility to see the calves in with their mums! It was a lovely evening with a beautiful sunset and there were several calves, some lying in the grass and one was nursing. It was ddark by the time we headed home but it was also the end of a lovely day!!
