Monday 7 May - Thursday 10 May (Boynton Beach and on to Ayden)

Monday
It was another gorgeous day so I had breakfast as per usual on the patio and also had my daily dose of snuggles with Abbey. I went for a walk around the block, just over a mile today. I do need to keep this going, lol!

After cooling down a bit I did my ironing and packed some of the clothes as they were ironed. I cooked my open omelette for tea tonight and I enjoyed it, I hope Jackie did too, lol!

Tuesday
It sounds boring but it was another gorgeous day so a repeat of yesterday for breakfast, lol.

I needed a bit more bubble wrap so walked to the CVS Pharmacy and they had what I wanted in stock. The round trip was probably just over a mile.

I finished my packing and then relaxed for a while before showering and getting ready to go to the Banana Boat for tea. When we were there on Sunday I noticed they had Beef (Short Rib) Au Jus on the menu.
We went early as soon as Jackie arrived home from work and did not have to wait, when we left it was forty minute waiting time, on a Tuesday evening, lol! I did enjoy my meal, the beef was so tender! I had a Baileys on ice (the rocks) to finish up.

Wednesday
I was up early and having discovered the train was a Viewliner with no luggage space I knew I would have to check my baggage. So I took some items out of the suitcase and put them in my carry on bag, when the case was weighed it came in at 47.2 lbs, phew.

The weather was again glorious and I had plenty of cuddles from Abbey, on demand, lol. I also did my last washing so I had no dirty clothes to take onward with me.

Jackie took the morning off work and we set off nice and early. We had an excellent run through to West Palm Amtrak and were there in plenty of time.

I made my farewells to Jackie as she had to go back to work and had assistance with my bags. The staff at the station were very helpful and friendly.

The train pulled in about 15 minutes late, lol, but we were soon on our way. There was a lovely, new, touch when I reached my room, a crd with a welcome message from the Coach Attendant!

The train passed through Kissimmee, a name that brought back fond memories of a lovely day out with MK (Donna M) and her partner a year ago. We went on an airboat and saw a lot of wildlife, then we went on to Disney Springs!

We had stops at Tampa and Orlando where we could get out and stretch our legs. I had brought bread and other items so had tomato and cucumber sandwiches for tea, delicious! There was a gorgeous sunset with some great cloud formations. I took a picture of one side of the room with toilet and sink tidily stored, lol!

The train seemed to be making good time so we shall see, lol! I had my bed made up fairly early so I could try and sleep!!

Thursday
I managed to get some good sleep, woke a few times but probably one of the best night's sleep I have had on a train. When I awoke the train was running about one hour late, lol, what a surprise!!

We caught up some time and pulled into Raleigh about 40 minutes late. I went to the small lounge and waited for the train from Charlotte to New York, it was runnng about 15 minutes late, lol!

I finally arrived in Wilson about 20 minutes late and Terri was waiting further down the platform, lol! It was good to see her again! The "lady" was still sitting waiting where I had seen her on previous visits, lol! It was a lovely warm, sunny day!

One of the lovely guys from the baggage area put my case in the back of the car for me and we set off back to Ayden, stopping for a coffee at a Starbucks in Wilson. We stopped at Steve's sister Carol's place to see catch up and also see some kittens they have, the mother is very small, I thought she was one of the kittens to start with, lol!!

I unpacked and caught up with the fur babies. on the way home Terri told me she was fostering a wee Yorkie, called Abbey, who was at the local shelter and needed some socialisation, she had come from living in a cage for most of her three years!! She is still very nervous and I thought she would run away from me but she came straight up to me!

Later, we went out for tea at a Mexican place and they offered Chicken Wings as an Appetiser so I ordered those. We went to the Food Lion in Winterville to buy a few supplies and then stopped for a coffee on the way home, lol!! Later in the evening there was a huge thunderstorm with lots of lightening and later some heavy rain!
