Saturday - Monday December 24 -26 (Home base)

Saturday
It was a cloudy day with temperatures just above freezing. As Roger and Brady were to leave this evening, we sat down around the middle of the day and exchanged gifts. Brady did very well but we all had some nice gifts. I already had my Sweatshirt and TShirt, to that I added some kitty socks, kitty slippers, a kitty salt and pepper set, a kitty beanie and some gloves to go with!!

I also introduced them to the Christmas tradition of crackers, there is a photo included of one. Basically you have one person on either end and you pull hard, they should make a cracking sound, lol!

They are usually filled with a paper hat, a silly joke and a plastic toy or some such, these were special ones and included a charm made out of Rimu (NZ native wood) instead of the plastic! Brady enjoyed
pulling them with everyone else!!

We had a lazy afternoon and then about 6 pm Roger and Brady left!! About 7.30 pm, Shirley and Keith came round, and we sat round the table enjoying some more food and chatting away. Shirley has a nasty cold so they did not stay too late!

It was a very pleasant relaxing day and I went to bed at a reasonable hour for once, lol!!

Sunday
It was again a cloudy day, BUT no white Christmas for me, boohoo!!! There was some thawing but still a good covering of snow on the ground. Harry's mum, Milla, came round about 1 pm and we sat down to yet more food, lol!! Again it was a lazy day and after Milla left we sat and watched some films on the TV. It was another quiet, lazy day.

Monday
I was woken up by Lisa telling me Karleen was coming round for breakfast, so I had to wake up and get my wash ASAP, lol!! Lisa cooked a great breakfast and we had many laughs, gifts were again exchanged! After Karleen left there was nothing to do but lounge around as the weather was terrible, very heavy rain that meant almost all the snow got washed away, it was very depressing!! Karleen came back later to help Harry tidy the barn which acts as his workshop.

We watched a couple of films in the afternoon and generally it was another lazy day. I hope we see some sunshine soon as it would be good to get out for a short walk!
