So off to the SPCA we all went. I used one of my carriers for Chrissy as I felt that it would be too much of a squash all in one! I put a towel over the kittens carrier as it is an open cage.
In the car I placed the open ends of the carriers facing each other and quite close so Chrissy and the kittens could see each other.
The vet was a bit late and there were quite a few other cats/ kittens waiting in carriers but they behaved superbly, no hissing or growling from my lot!!
Not impressed with being shut out of the vet giving them their vaccinations but I watched through the glass panel on the door and they all took it well, no crying!! Also, being told to handle them more, lol, I would have to live in the room to do that!
They also had their next worm treatment and no issues at all, they are such good kittens as is Chrissy. The vet reckons that Chrissy is between two and three years old so goodness knows how many litters she has had.
Back home and I put Chrissy inside first and gave her time to eat. When I brought the kittens in I opened the cage, a top opener, and just watched what happened. Ivy was the first one out, she is always game to explore, followed by Naza, Frosty and Magda. It took Cindy-Lou about another five minutes to get the idea and only after Naza hopped back in and then out again, lol.
They were fairly tired and, when I left them, were starting to fall asleep. When I returned later to spend time with them, they had been on the desk attacking the net curtains from the evidence on the floor!!
Three of them then wanted a comfort nurse and Chrissy obliged while Cindy-Lou gave Chrissy's head a wash and, I think they both enjoyed it. Later, I had my usual foot bath!
They were very sleepy though and it was easy to weigh them. Frosty and Naza would have slept in the dish while Ivy feel asleep by my foot. Frosty then wanted a selfie while he was on the tree and poor Ivy was clambered over by Cindy-Lou who wanted my foot back!!
Weights are really going up!!
Thursday's weights compared to arrival weight: Magda (845, +600), Naza (950, +690), Ivy (695, +485), Frosty (910, +645), Cindy-Lou (890, +620)
These kittens continue to challenge me.They like the top of the desk and I was outside today and stopped briefly to say hello. The next minute Sylvie, who was having some outside time under supervision, hopped up on the ledge to have a look.
Magda did not like it at all and moaned and moaned at Sylvie. As I helped Sylvie down she hissed back!! So, I had to cover the window up and used a plastic garbage bag taped to the outside.
In between their adventures, they slept a lot as well as I saw on several visits to the room. I am working on holding them more and Magda really does not like it. I have also started brushing them and all of them don't seem to mind that.
I put a small toy mouse in there yesterday and today it was found and Naza, in particular, had a great time with it. Cindy-Lou fell asleep by my foot again, she loves feet for some odd reason. When I stroke them they seem more responsive now and certainly there is more purring!
Today's photos, Magda under the bridge and then with Naza; Frosty being a nutter on the top tier; Naza with the purple mouse and, Chrissy who is such a wonderful mum!
Friday's weights compared to arrival weight: Magda (850, +605), Naza (945, +685), Ivy (695, +485), Frosty (915, +650), Cindy-Lou (895, +625)
