Thursday January 1 & Friday January 2

The kittens continue to develop their different abilities. I made a triangular tunnel out of cardboard and Naza was the first one to go through it!!

They continue to learn about the litter box although I still have the odd puddle or two to clean up!! Yes, I had to put a picture of one of them using it, that is Naza, lol!!

Poor Chrissy, she only has to go into the area and she gets mobbed!! There are also a couple of real climbers in the group!

I also put the bottom of an egg carton in their area for them to play with.

As well as being one of the climbers Magda also likes sleeping behind the bed.

On my way to bed I popped in and they were playing up a storm! They are quite happy to play with the cardboard tunnel and the egg xxxxxxx.

First Magda then Frosty travelled the tunnel and Magda was happy to go through in both directions!

Frosty went to the litter bin but sat his back feet on the edge with his front feet inside, I will leave you to imagine what happened, lol!!

Later, Naza showed him how to use it after a quick game of soccer!!

T-Rudi weighed in 25 gms up on the day before so I was pleased with that.

Thursday's weights compared to arrival weight: Magda (415, +170), Naza (445, +185), T-Rudi (350, +140), Frosty (475, +210), Cindy-Lou (430,+160)

Friday morning was busy as I needed to change both litter boxes and wash them out. The kittens are definitely all using theirs as there were no puddles anywhere. I am so pleased as they are barely three weeks old. Their teeth are growing and the next major task will be to get them to eat proper food.

Chrissy is more relaxed every day.She does not like being held but I pick her up onec a day for about a minute and make a fuss of her. This is so she gets used to being handled like that, visits to the vets etc and she might enjoy it more when the kittens are weaned..

I went back to their room later on and there were only two kittens visible, I did not panic and checked behind the bed first, sure enough there were some kittens asleep but only two.

This left one unaccounted for, but a thought crossed my mind and, sure enough, number five was fast asleep in the cardboard tunnel, it was T-Rudi.

There is nothing sweeter than watching kittens sleeping all cuddled together!

When I go into the room some of the kittens now come to the end of their area nearest the door to greet me. T-Rudi responds the most, I can pick her up and cuddle her and she is quite relaxed and seemingly happy.

Naza is improving although he and Frosty are a bit vocal! Magda is also happier being handled but Cindy-Lou is a wee bit shier than the others, although she does not run away rather she is slower to come to me.

Frosty went to the litter box when I was in the room this afternoon and used it properly, lol, I told him what a good boy he is!!

At one point Chrissy was in the area having a wash when suddenly they descended, I was taking a photo of the markings on her back when it happened but ,as you can see, she gradually succumbed to five babies.

I weighed them later today and all of them are down a bit in weight. I am not concerned as they are becoming much more active but that is why I need to work on feeding them solid food. They play like mad, even not bothering about nursing all the time and then they "crash", Cindy-Lou often sleeps alone in the bed if the others sleep on the floor.

Friday's weights compared to arrival weight: Magda (410, +165), Naza (440, +180), T-Rudi (335, +125), Frosty (460, +195), Cindy-Lou (425,+155)

Next post will be Sunday evening (NZ time) or very early morning (EST).
