On Sunday morning a couple of Margaret's brothers and their wives came round for morning tea. It was another gorgeous day in Perth and very warm, the warmest day so far, up in the mid 30s Celsius.
I wandered out from time to time to keep an eye on the nest as the youngsters have really grown. They were starting to come out of the tiny nest and sit on the branch, then finally one flew across to another branch. Both parents were in close attendance as might be expected.
I also finished my packing and managed to fit everything in, weight will be no problem as my bag could not hold 23 kg (50 lbs), lol!! It was sad to be leaving after such a wonderful holiday, we certainly were on the move a lot!!
In the early afternoon, we visited a daughter's place for a couple of hours before I had to check in. Everyone was having a great time in the pool until one of the lounging rings burst, it was full of small white polystyrine beads and chaos ensued as they spread quickly over the pool. Most of them were fished out eventually but they are so difficult to get rid of!!
After final farewells it was off to the airport for my evening take off tat, with the time difference would see us land in Auckland about 6 am. Perth airport is under an upgrade so the viewing area was shut, so it was goodbye to Margaret and Edgar and then I made my way to the lounge. I managed to get a photo of the Dreamliner at the gate and ended up in the Qantas lounge!
It was a good flight back to Auckland and I asked one of the cabin attendants if there was any difference flying on the Dreamliner in comparison to other planes. It does seem to be quieter but the main thing she found was that she needed to drink much less water so there are obviously improvements in the ventilation of the plane.
It was only 10 Celsius when we landed in Auckland so I was pleased I had a jacket with me! it did not take long to get through security and check my bag in at the Domestic check in. It was quite a pleasant walk to the domestic terminal and I spent a couple of hours in the lounge. The plane was on time, phew, and my lift was waiting to take me home.
Sylvie and Seb were only interested in two things - a short wander outside and FOOD!! A good meal was followed by sleep. Once they woke up I got plenty of attention and there was lots of purring. There was not much room for the three of us on my chair, lol!!
It was sunny and about 23 or 24 Celsius so a very pleasant day. I kept falling asleep in the afternoon, my body clock was five hours behind and I only had about one hours sleep on the plane. Another great holiday comes to an end!!!!!
