Wednesday August 20/Thursday August 21 (Grand Rapids)

After a lazy start on Wednesday and another walk to the covered bridge, we drove into Defiance to get some supplies at Walmarts and Meijers. We also picked up some Chinese food which we took back home for dinner, very tasty!

On Thursday, the weather was very warm and humid again today and there was variable cloud. So off we went to Grand Rapids, a small Ohio town that has some small olde worlde shops, mainly antiques and arts.

We wandered through some of them and Lisa made a couple of purchases.

We then went to the La Rose restaurant for lunch and I enjoyed the spare ribs! We ate on the Patio and there were a few spots of rain but they passed quickly.

We crossed the small footbridge and sat on a swing seat for a few minutes enjoying the view of the Maumee and the birdlife. While we were siting there a squirrel appeared out of nowhere right in front of us!! Thought it was going to jump right up to us, lol, but it didn't of course!

Grand Rapids is only a small town but its population will be swelled to thousands (and the rest!!) early in October when they hold their Apple Butter Festival. After visiting a few more shops we headed home, stopping for an ice cream on the way!

We arrived home at a reasonable hour and I went to bed about 7 pm to try and get some sleep before going to the Doughbox Bakery with Lisa.
