Sunday August 17 (Kalamazoo)

What a difference in the weather today!! We again made an early start and it was raining but as we left it was starting to clear a little. We stopped for breakfast at the same McDonalds but by the time we reached it the rain was persisting down!

We hung around most of the morning in the camper van waiting on the Weather Gods to decide whether we would race or not. About midday it began to ease and they were able to start drying the track so that racing could get underway about 1.30 pm.

Brady won his race in the Junior Honda class and decided not to drive on the Light Mod class to save himself for he Junior Animal class. He had drawn 8 which was not a good start and was making his way through the field when the car in front of him spun.

Unfortunately, the head official thought Brady had spun him out so he was put back to the rear of the field. Brady drove extremely well to get back up to second place! A view of the video I took of the race showed daylight between the two cars when the one spun out!!! Such is life.

We set off home about 5 pm, not waiting for the presentations as it was about a two and a half hour drive. On the way we stopped for ice cream, Harry's favourite food. well almost!! A good trip home but I was very tired, almost too tired to hit the shower, lol!! I re made my acquaintance with Bruno and Enzo (the two dogs) as well as Guido and Nicko (the two cats). Guido kept me company in bed although I had to ask the dogs not too!
