Tuesday October 9 (Thames Ditton & the river)

It dawned another gorgeous day, I have been so lucky on this trip. Wendy went out to the gym while I did my ironing and packing. We then headed out for a walk along the river and lunch, my treat! It took us three attempts to find a legal place to park, lol, but we found a good one, only £2.75 for three hours.

The river walk was just across the road and looked so beautiful with the water sparkling with the rays of the sun. There were lots of barges moored along the river side, one or two were decked out with flowers and one was decorated beautifully!

We walked to a pub, The Boaters, and had a lovely lunch washed down by lager and lime! We walked back to the car, stopping to enjoy a coffee along the way at the Riverside Cafe. By this time there were some school rowing teams out on the river, the coaches following in motor boats and shouting out instructions!

We reached the car well within the time we had paid for and I looked up on maps, we had walked 3.2 miles in total! Wendy went to collect Eliza from school and we called in at Sainsburys to do some shopping before driving home.

I packed my final few things and after tea and some TV, I brought all my clothes etc for the next morning downstairs. It was time for an early night tonight, after saying farewell to everyone!
