Sunday October 7 & Monday October 8 (Thames Ditton)

Sunday
It was a fairly early start today as Eliza had a hockey tournament at Surbiton Club. The weather was much kinder today with quite a lot of sun although there was a cool breeze. Wendy dropped her off for warm ups and then we arrived later. She played three games, they won the first and lost the second. When one team has a goalkeeper and the other does not it seems a bit unfair.

In the third game, the opposition scored a goal and looked as if they would win. However, Eliza scored two goals towards the end of the game and  so they won, 2 - 1, nice one!!

We then dropped Eliza off for a birthday party at a cafe.

Later in the afternoon, Wendy, Eliza Billy and I went for a walk in Hampton Court Park and there were lots of people their.

Being a Sunday and such a lovel day the crowds were out to enjoy it!

There were lots of dogs being walked and we met some people who knew Wendy and Eliza so stopped to look at their dogs and chat.

There were lots of water birds on the lake, ducks, Canada Geese, Swans and we also saw some cygnets.

We walked quite a way and then turned to walk round the lake.

There was a tree to climb along the way and while we weere there, a couple of stags were having a verbal contretemps, lol!

One was just behind the tree on our side of the lake while the other was on the opposite side and at one point tried to cross the lake, but eventually realised it might be a bit too deep!

The doe he was with came out of the bush and darted along before settling down to graze. The two stags were really loud, lol, but finally the one on our side gave up and wandered away into the bush!

We walked back to the car and then it was home time, we passed Hampton Court Palace again and over Hampton Court Bridge, it was a lovely afternoon out!

Monday
I was woken up by a cramp in my leg, lol, it was 9 am and I had slept through everyone leaving! Nigel had gone to Spain for three days, Wendy to work and the others to their various schools. I dealt with a scam phone call as well as a surveyor who turned up at the door related to work on the house next door.

I had all my washing to do, the larger items were put on an airer outside, even though it was a cloudy, cool day but there was a good breeze. The small items went through the tumbler drier after being washed. I also rang the taxi company to double check my taxi for 4 am on Wednesday to take me to Heathrow for the next part of my trip. I also spent some time sorting out items that do not need to go on the next part of my trip and took my empty suitcase downstairs as it will be easier to pack!.Rocky spent all morning curled up on Luke's bed but let me tickle him under his chin several times! He is one of those cats who does not like strangers but I think he is coming round, lol!

Once this was all finished, I went out for a walk to a local cafe, it was in a small shopping area in Hinchley Wood. It seemed to take forever to get there but I enjoyed a lovely coffee, made just how I like it. The way back seemed so much shorter, as often happens. I started walking down the correct road and thought the numbers were a bit high, I looked towards the end of the road and realised it did a loop, lol, I finally found the correct house!

My washing was just about dry and it will air overnight beside a heater in the kitchen. I am very pleased to have that all done and tomorrow it will be time to iron some of it and then it will be packed.
