Wednesday November 1 (Dinner in Boston)

I spent some time this morning ironing the clean clothes as well as a couple of items that were badly creased from travelling, lol!! Then it was time to get ready for my pickup at 3 pm!

What a wonderful afternoon/evening I had in the company of Jennifer Thorne, her mother and aunt. Jennifer picked me up and then picked up the other two ladies.

We headed in to Boston and traffic was kind to us beng quite light. We found a park in a parking building without to much trouble. It was fairly cool and cloudy but there was no rain!

We were going to go up to the Marriot viewing platform but were told it did not open until 4.30 pm.

So we wandered off outside and just opposite, at the Black Rose, there was some filming going on, one of the extras told us it was for Showtime!!!

We then headed to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. What a wonderful collection of shops, stalls and food, it would be seething with people if it was summer, thank goodness it is not, lol! Larry Bird's shoes are integrated into a bronze plaque and I had my photo taken with Arnold Auerback, leader of the Boston Celtics, lol.

We returned to the Marriot, via the film set again, there was quite a crowd of extras waiting for the next scene! We then discovered the viewing platform did not open until 6.00 pm, grrrrr! So Jennifer called an uber to take us to the Barking Crab for dinner.

We travelled over the bridge into the seaport district and this area is only about ten years old. Dinner was great, we all had lobster rolls, mine was nakeed meaning it was warm, yummy!

We traveiled back to the Marriot to find it was $10 to go to the platform so we gave it a miss and walked past the Waterfront and on to the Italian quarter. The columns in the area are lit up and change colour!

Along the way we saw this cute dog carrying a toy in her mouth, she was very friendly and enjoyed lots of petting from us.

After a decent walk, we reached Vittoria where we had coffee and pastry for dessert, again very yummy, I had a Cannoli and a Cafe B52 minus the Grand Marnier! We passed a restaurant where people were actually queuing outside, lol!

Finally, we bought a pastry to go from the shop next door, Mike's Pastry, for a pastry to go, lol! Then we ubered back to the parking building for the drive home.

I was very grateful to Jennifer for collecting me and dropping me off, I really did have a wonderful time!
