Tuesday October 31 (Boston to Burlington)

Happy Halloween!!!!

I could see that it was another suny day althoguh when I went out it was a bit cooler and later the breeze started up and that was decidely cooler! I had to check out by 11 am but organised to leave my luggage so I cold go out for a wander, my taxi to catch the bus was ordered for 1.30 pm.

I  wandered around for a while and then tried to find the Starbucks that was marked. It was on the second fllor of theMarriot Hotel so difficult to find. It did not have a lot of seating and there were no power outlets, hmmmmm! I noticed there was a supermarket across the way, Star Market, so I went across the road and was able to get a few things I needed.

I wandered back to the hotel to collect my bags and stowed a couple of items in the smaller one, that has most of the weightier objects as it still has four working wheels, lol!

If my shoulder had been OK I would have used my backpack instead, phew, thank goodness for small mercies!! I took a couple of photos of the hotel, it was a restaurant in a previous life and I am sure it was a very large house before that.

The taxi was on time and after the usualy pleasantries and me sharing some of my trip, the driver had a neat story to tell. He came from Morocco and in 2001 a friend, already in the US, put his name in the Green Card Lottery. He won a spot and eventually got round to completing the application. After five years he could appply to be a citizen, this he did so has dual citizenship, like myself.

I had to wait a while at the bus stop as I was good and early and it was certainly cooler by now, brrrrr! the bus stated at the State street Station so I did not have to fight to get one of the front seats, I had to hug my two cases, I could not lift them on the luggage shelf! It was a pleasant ride once we left the city behind, that had been a very slow trip, lol!

We were about 15 minutes late due to traffic and I was dropped at the end of the run, this was very close to my hotel so i rang for the shuttle. it turns out there were a couple of ORACLE buildings there, I am not sure if it is HQ or just one fo their places of work but it brought back all sorts of memories, lol! (NZ took the Americas Cup off Oracle after previousy losing to them in dramatic circumsances in San Francisco.)

My room is great, it has a kitchenette so everything that goes with that, it is a Candlewood Suites and they arepretty much the same everywhere. I decided to go out for an early tea at the Cheescake Factory. It is a stone's throw away, but due to the turnpike it is difficult to walk to so the shuttle took me..i had chicken wings and garlic bread but half was enough so I have tea for another night, lol. I did bring a piece of Cherry Cheesecake home for supper.

I rang the hotel several times but received no response so the restaurant range for a taxi for me. Apparently, they picked up at the hotel and heard no-one, very strange, they did pay ofr the taxi though so all is good.

I did my washing, long overdue, had a shower, wrote the blog and then hit the sack!!
