Saturday September 24 - Monday September 26 (Massanutten)

Saturday
Due to the accident on I-81 yesterday, Chris, Chris and Devon did not arrive until this morning. Daniel is at camp and will arrive tomorrow. They arrived early but I slept through much of it even though I am in the main room, lol!!

It was generally a quiet day, we went out so Cheryl and Dan could do some admin things that were needed. We then went to a Food Lion not far away to purchase some supplies and then returned to base.

Later, I went out for a walk down to the area where the Go Kart track is and asked where the Ski Lodge and general store were, not too far to walk at all.

It was a pleasant day today with some cloud, temperatures are certainly cooler here but not unpleasantly so.

That evening before dinner, some of the deer came calling. They enjoyed the carrots and apple but one of them was very pushy, so I have named her Pushy!! They seem quite fearless!

Dinner tonight was Orange Chicken and Rice.

Sunday
Today was a quiet day, some of the party went back to Inwood to do laundry and check on the cats and Christine went to pick up Daniel after camp. That left Christopher, Devon and myself at base. The weather was a bit iffy so I hung around, read a bit and played a few games on my IPad.

Dinner tonight was from Cookout and I ordered fries and onion rings but I had some of the BBQ beef left from Friday to go with.

This evening was not a good one, I was feeling very down, mostly I cannot get Sylvie out of my mind! It lead to a poor night's sleep.

Monday
It was sunny most of the day but became cloudy later. It rained after dark and we also had some thunder and lightening, but not very much!

I rang up to book the Falconry Experience for Wednesday, I love flying the Birds of Prey. Then Cheryl took me on an extended drive round the resort.

I did not realise it was so large, there are over 2000 units plus many apartments as well as six hotels and two golf courses. They are spread over thousands of acres with much woodland all around.

We also drove through the area where there are private homes. Many people live here all year but others use the as holiday homes and rent them out at other times. Some of the houses are more like mansions and ther is a mix of modern and rustic!

After lunch, I walked down to meet some of the others at the Go Kart Track, they had been at the Miniature Golf.

As far as I can remember, I have never been in one before. I really enjoyed the experience even though I got cut off a couple of times!! The two brothers were very competitive with each other!

I then walked up to the General Store and sussed out where things were. On the way back to base, the dark clouds were looming but I made it home OK.

Dinner tonight was Lasagna, I am not a pasta fan but it was delicious, thanks to Christine!
