Saturday September 10 (Pigeon Forge)

I had a broken night of sleep but was up in time to go to breakfast over the road. I had French toast fingers and bacon. After breakfast, I stayed back at the hotel and read while the others went to an outlet to find some shoes. I have read over three quarters of the book already!
The others came back in mid afternoon having to fight their way through the heavy traffic! I had a wash and went over to The Island to see if I could get on the wheel, there was only one small group waiting so I purchased my ticket and off I went again.

This time I was able to take photos as it was daylight. There were some lovely views of the Smoky Mountains, I wonder f they get their name as there is almost always a haze over them?

I then went to the Timberwood Grill to wait for the others, where we had an early tea. I had the Baby Back Ribs, they were delicious and the bones fell out of the meat.

We sat outside on the rockers for a while and then went for a stroll round the island to walk our tea off. I was rather full after tea as were the others!.

There was a store with some brightly parrots. they included a beautiful pale apricot coloured Cockatoo as well as some McCaws, I then found a coffee place so bought my daily coffee!

We then went to the Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine outlet, after all I had to taste some of it, lol. The tasting was free so we lined up in front of our bar tender, there were thirteen to taste!

We started with the blue one, White Lightening, 64% proof, it surely took my breath away, lol! The next one, Blackberry, was very fruity and was one of my favourites.

There were some I liked and a couple I could have done without but I had to taste all thirteen! The others included Butterscotch, Orange, Peppermint, Margarita and Pumpkin Pie (which I did not like)!!

The final two though were to die for, first there was a Baileys moonshine, it was exactly that. This was followed by the Starbucks with a kick and OMG, it was so smooth! I purchased one of the latter as I need to take that taste with me, it will not make it back to New Zealand though, lol!

As it was barely 7.30 we went and sat in our seats on the strip to relax and watch the cars go by! I was feeling very good and relaxed, lol! For the record, I would like to state that I am not an alcoholic, lol!

I wandered over to the hotel about 8.30, finished packing, showered and went to bed to finish reading my book, which I did do!!! Later the weather turned and it began to pour with rain, we had been so lucky as this was the first time it had rained!
