Friday September 2/Saturday September 3 (Ayden)

Friday
Another day, another dollar!!! At least that is how the saying goes, lol!! In my case, it is another day, another story!!!

I did sleep well last night, so well I did not wake up until 1.10 pm, yes, pm!!!! So breakfast was at lunchtime and I gave lunch a miss!!

Then it was time to put my sheets in the washer and vacuum my bedroom. That done I needed to download the photos from my camera and sort them out ready for the blog.

Oh, I forgot to say, Terri's car was still where it was left when Chris went to collect it. Poor Chris had to push it out to get it into position to winch it onto the trailer and not a soul stopped to offer help!!!!

As you can see from the photo, the rain had not abated and kept going right through the day.

He drove it to his friend's place and, guess what, it was the battery!! Steve and Terri went out after Steve finished work to collect it, PHEW!! Such good news, well it was in one way but it has to be remembered that batteries are not cheap!!

I started on my blog and Gracie decided that it was time to jump up for a cuddle!! That delayed things somewhat, lol, my excuse and I am sticking to it. I was also interrupted by tea, a great feed of bacon, eggs, hash browns and biscuits, one has to eat, lol!!  It was quite late when I finished writing the blog so photos had to wait until the next day! By this time there was quite a storm outside and it continued for quite a while.

Saturday
I slept indifferently and the wind rose during the night while the rain just kept on coming down!! After an early breakfast, very unusual for me, I updated the blog with lots of photos from BCP.

In the early afternoon we headed out to Washington (the NC version and the first city to be named after George!) to shop at Walmarts. We kept away from Greenville as it is the opening game of college football and ECU (The Pirates) host WCU.

The fans get together early and tailgate, we did see some of the traffic as we were heading out.

Washington is on a river and has a lovely waterfront, it is a very old town although we did see some new houses and apartments, some of which are still being built. We went to eat lunch first at a very busy place, Down on Main Street, and we had a lovely lunch. I certainly felt full afterwards, in fact I think all three of us did, lol. We took another look at the waterfront and saw the floating restaurant.

We then headed to Walmart and after all the shopping had been done returned home via Greenville.

As the game started at 6 pm the traffic was not too bad although we did pass close to the stadium and saw some fans on their way!! After one more stop the final stop was at a Starbucks, lol!!

Once home it was time to unpack the car and Terri had to feed the cats, some of whom were crying loudly in disgust that tea was late!! Steve got the live broadcast of the game and hooked it up to the TV, The half time score was 31 - 7 to ECU, they just seemed to have too much skill for the opposition. EU finally won by 52 - 7, a bit of a thrashing!!

When I was here in April Terri bought two humming bird feeders. Well, they have been well used and the humming birds are still around, one of them has a beautiful red band round its throat. Gracie and Hope, in particular, wait at the back window while Autumn joins Hope at the front window, this gives them font row seats at feeders, lol!

I have seen videos of humming birds but I did not really comprehend how small they really are. When they fly by the window they look like large moths, lol! It was also interesting to hear them chatter to each other. The wind and rain over the past two days does not seem to worry them.

It was a mainly gloomy day with passing periods of rain although we did see some blue sky and a watery sun fr a short time.
