Wednesday July 28 (Doughbox and Ten Pin)

Last night and early this morning I went to the Doughbox with Lisa. I usually visit there at least once during a visit with Lisa.

I try and help where I see it might be useful and not intrusive. I spent most of the time helping to put different items onto trays for baking.

This included Monster Cookies, various other cookies and Cinnamon rolls among other items. It was good to catch up with Val, Brian, Pam and Abby and met Angie who was new to me.

Although there were fans and a portable A/C unit, it was warm enough to slightly affect the cookies and dough. The place could do with modernising the place but I guess other things in the village will always come first.

It has to be a good earner for Sauder Village as their goods are very popular and with the campgrounds so close I can imagine most of the campers discover the Doughbox fairly quickly, lol!!

Lisa drove me home about 4.30 am. There was a beautiful half moon and I took some photos. After a wee break I took a shower and went to bed.

I woke about midday and went for a bike ride a wee bit later. then it was time for a shower as Karleen and Lori were picking us up to go to the Ten Pin Bar in Ridgeville.

It is always fun going there as the owners know I am from New Zealand and I usually go there at least once when I am staying with Lisa. The evening ended on a not so good note. Lori went outside and was followed in by a kitten. It looked as if it was emaciated and probably also dehydrated.

We tried to feed it but it looked as if it did not know what food was. It did manage to take in a wee bit of watered milk. It was not feral as it was very friendly. I have a feeling it has been left to fend for itself!!!

Eventually, one of the patrons came out and said he would take it home and to a vet the next day. I am fairly sure I know what the vet would do, but maybe not!!

We went home via the ice cream place in Ridgeville and saw a beautiful car there, a Jeepster I believe. On the way again and there was another gorgeous sunset. Safely home and it was time to farewell Karleen and Lori but I will see them at Christmas time, all being well! thanks to them for a lovely evening and for shouting my meal!
