Wednesday May 18 - Friday May 20 (Williamsburg - Inwood - Rockville)

Wednesday
There had been some overnight rain but it was still very cloudy today. We left after breakfast for the trip back to Inwood. The traffic was fairly busy to begin with but then thinned out.

We made our first stop near Fredericksburg and found the same Panera shop for a coffee for me. We travelled on and the scenery improved as we left the wooded areas of Virginia behind us.

We stopped again for petrol, it was only $1.99 so it was a good place to stop. We arrived home about 1.30 pm and that was a slightly faster journey than our outward trip. The weather had improved somewhat by this time.

It was time to unpack and sort my washing out. I then started packing my case for the trip to Maryland.

I also spent a lot of time on my IPad but it looks as if all my music was deleted. There has to be an issue with  IOS as I was nowhere near my music app when the music disappeared. Deleting tracks is not just as easy as one click so there has to be an issue. I will be contacting Apple Support when I get home as the IPad is only 7 months old.

Eventually I left the IPad alone and concentrated on getting my blog finished. I had my notes and all I needed to do was add them to my blog. I downloaded my photos from my camera and sorted out those I wanted for the blog. Once they were inserted I uploaded them and the published the blog.

We had a very tasty tea, Cheesburger Upside Down Pie, and it was made with the Red Lobster biscuit mix and that just made it for me! We had some of the Cherry Pie for dessert.

I think all of us were a wee bit tired so it was off to bed early.

Thursday
The weather was partly cloudy to begin with but then it cleared and was a lovely sunny day, lol, just as I am leaving!

I did my washing first thing and then it was time to complete my packing. There was much noise coming from the house being built across the road. They had laid the concrete on the garage floor too high and had to drill it out and then break it up for taking away. It was going on when we got home yesterday and was even worse today.

After lunch we played some rounds of cribbage but the noise got to us all affecting our concentration and we gave up, lol!

I went over the road with Cheryl to Shalon's house and we spent some time with her two gorgeous cats. We even sat out on the deck for a while, it was so sunny and warm.

Shalon came over for tea which Dan and Cheryl had ordered from a new fish shop, it was very good, I had the Flounder. We had a couple of rounds of cribbage before Shalon had to go home to sleep, she has to leave at 6.30 am tomorrow for a three day training course.

Friday
I was up fairly early to the noise from the house across the road, still breaking the concrete up. However, they were finished by 9 am so it was not too bad!

Cheryl had collected the two cats early as they were cat sitting for three days so I had some pets with them.

I checked Amtrak and the train was running just under an hour late, surprise, lol! Just as we were driving away from the house Cheryl had a phone call to say that a handyman was coming earlier than anticipated so Dan hopped out and Cheryl took me to the station. We stopped at Martins so I could get a cup of coffee and onto the station.

I farewelled Cheryl and sat to wait for the train. I would like to thank Cheryl and Dan for putting up with me again, giving me such a great time, including Cribbage games, and for their generosity! Thanks to Shalon for time with her babies and for making the cribbage game numbers up when she could!

The Amtrak conductor wanted tickets before we got on, usually they look at them after we get on! A know it all passenger was hassling me which I did not appreciate, lol! I was not given a seat number so just sat anywhere. Then another passenger came up and said I was in his seat so I found another one. Then the conductor came through, "Anyone for Rockville?", my destination! So I moved again and he moved my luggage for me, lol, third time lucky!

We made good time to Rockville and my friends were waiting for me, although they did have to wait for the train to make a second stop, lol! Once home I was introduced to their Budgies, they are young, one male and his female harem of three, lol! Their names are Cricket, Chipper, Cheeka and the stud is Glitch!

In the evening we went to a Fair at Phoenix new school for next year. It was very busy and was a money raiser for them.
