I did not sleep that well as Charlie was barking a bit in the night! It was warming but cloudy today. We left about midday as Edgar had to visit his surgeon. His appointment had been brought forward as the surgeon's house was burgled and d to fly back early from a holiday!
I found my third Coffee Club and had one while I waited. Margaret and I were then dropped off in South Perth so we could catch the ferry across the Swan River. We arrived in Elizabeth Quay which has been developed at considerable cost and is possibly over valued!
We walked round to the Bell Tower which houses twelve bells from St Martin-in-the-Fields (of nursery rhyme fame). These were all cast between 1725 and 1770 and were given to Perth in 1988 to commemorate Australia's bicentenary in 1988. Five bells were added by various donors and a sixth new bell was commissioned by the WA Government, thus making it a round of eighteen and completed the Millennium Project.
I went up to the sixth level, the highest one can go, and took some photos of the surrounding area. In spite of the cloudy day the viewing was excellent. The tower was f an hour early as a wedding was to take place on the sixth level.
We then caught the free blue CAT bus to the railway station. As that was the last stop we had a wee tiki tour of central Perth. It was very interesting to see some old, heritage buildings tucked away between modern high rises. We also saw the construction underway of an underground bus route!
We found yet another Coffee Club, lol, and imbibed once more. We wandered down the street I purchased a few bits and pieces and finally we reached the station and waited for the next train. It was but a short walk home from the local station and an enjoyable day ended with a lovely chicken dinner.
