Friday March 17 (Perth to Mandurah)

After breakfast, Katherine came round to drop Jeffrey off as we were all going to take a twin ride to Mandurah which is on the Swan River about an hour by train to the south of Perth. We caught a train into Perth at the local station and had to change platforms in Perth. It was a pleasant ride to Mandurah and the trains are certainly clean and well kept. We then caught a free bus from the train station to the Mandurah foreshore.

I went for a walk round the boardwalk and took a few photos, it was very warm, again!! It is an interesting place and it was very busy as they were setting up for their annual Crab Festival over the weekend. There was a funny incident on the walk, a lady was walking her dog and it had jumped down to wander on the sand and have a paddle. There was no way for the lady to get down and the dog did jump on a large rock but could not jump up from there. Eventually, her husband climbed down to the rock, retrieved the dog, who did not look pleased to lose her freedom, and climbed back up.

We then had lunch at Cicerello's before catching the bus back to the train station and making our way home. One of the good things today was that we never had to wait very long for our connections. It was a cheap day out for me, $4.80 for all the travel! Jeffrey is three and a half and was extremely well for the whole trip, he seemed to enjoy himself.

Katherine picked us up from the station and we went to Anne's for some cups of tea before returning home? We sat down to watch the T20 World Cup Cricket game between New Zealand and Austrlia, the old foes! NZ scored 142 and I did not think it would be enough, but it was, just, as the winning margin was a mere 8 runs, lol!! I THEN had a relaxing evening before heading off to bed fairly early again.
