Sunday April 12

I had another good night's sleep with Autumn sharing my bed, lol!! After breakfast, I had a quick shower and changed ready to go to Aiden's second birthday party, Aiden is Terri's grandson!

We did not have to drive very far and were among the first people there. Aiden was just being dressed in his new Mickey Mouse shirt and shoes, he was proudly showing his shoes off to everyone as they arrived, lol!!

Aiden is a very active two-year-old and ran all the way to the trampoline to play with the other children who were there, it must have been about 100 metres away and he ran all the way, future athlete????

He also found some willing slaves to pull him and a friend round in the small cart, lol! He was joined for some of the trip by Buddy, a german shepherd cross belonging to his other grandmother, also named Terri.

Then a large cardboard replica of Mickey Mouse was brought out and hung on the garage. This, is was told, contained many lollies (candy). The idea was to hit the cardboard hard enough to break it open. All the children had a few attempts each but it remained unbroken! Of course, the task was made more difficult as the rope was used to pull the box up and out of reach.

Eventually, Aiden's mother broke it open and the children enjoyed a great lolly scamble!
When it came to present opening time, I think he was a bit overwhelmed as he received a large number of gifts.

He wanted to open all the toys at once but was persuaded not to. He is a real sweetie and every card that was opened he held up for all to see!

Then it was time for the cake cutting and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him, poor Aiden started crying and just wanted hugs from his Dad! The cake was a Mickey Mouse decorated cake!

Then Aiden was off outside to play with his T-Ball and also to investigate the Play House he was given. he played for ages and showed no signs of letting up. At the end, he played wth the water and sand set from his parents, unfortunately some of the sand ended up on the ground, lol!!

Not long after we had returned home, Terri found a post from his mother, he had "crashed" not long after we left, lol!!

We had a choice of NC BBQ pork, fried chicken, cole slaw, potatoes, hush puppies and Brunswick stew for dinner, so I had a wee taste of most of the fare.

Autumn was again my bedtime companion, she is one gorgeous cat!!
