It was a very foggy morning but it gradually became much lighter so we left for Cincinnati just after midday. We were headed to spend a couple of days and celebrate Easter with Lisa's daughter, Deena and her fiance Mike.
We stopped along the way and found a Tim Horton's coffee place. As we approached Cincinnati the traffic was much heavier and almost at a standstill in a couple of places. We arrived about 4.30 pm or a bit later.

Later, we left for the Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse, the restaurant that is to host the wedding reception in October this year. It is a lovely setting and the food was excellent,
I had the ribs and they were so tender the meat dropped off the bone. It was a lovely evening out in excellent company. As we left, we saw the 'wedding' church up on the hill above us, all lit up, it looked beautiful!

Saturday
Deena cooked us a tasty egg bake for breakfast and we had a quiet day. Deena and Lisa went out to buy some plants for a stand on their small patio. While they were away, Harry, Mike and I watched most of 'Patriot Games', it is one of my all time favourites and I have most of the books written by Tom Clancy. Later I went to to the local Kroger store with Deena and managed to get a Starbucks coffee, nice one!
At one point, I found Milo and Mia on my bed looking rather cute! Deena prepared a wonderful Easter meal - Ham, Beans and Tomatoes, Potato Au Gratin, Rice, followed by Carrot Cake.
We followed an Estonian custom with hard boiled eggs. Harry began and managed to crack each of our eggs so he got to eat them all and have good luck!
After dinner, we sat down and watched the latest Jack Ryan film, 'Shadow Recruit'. It was typical of the genre, lots of action and fast flowing, I enjoyed it. A great end to a lovely day.
Sunday
The place Deena had planned for brunch was shut so we headed off back for Lisa and Harry's place just after midday. The traffic was certainly lighter than on Friday and we made good progress.
When we reached Dayton we took quite a detour so I could try White Castle's burgers, or sliders as they are called. It was my turn to shout and we purchased a Crave Case containing 30 sliders, lol!! We also scored a free drink each.
For people who do not know about these, the burgers are super thin, cooked with onion, served with one or two pickles and placed between small "dinner" size buns that are steamed.
They are then placed in small cardboard packets and packed in the cardboard case. Between the three of us we demolished 20 of them, lol!
On the way out we saw a couple of interestng Harley-Davidson motorbikes.
When we reached Defiance we stopped at Erik's Ice Cream place for some of the produce!! We reached home just before 6 pm and the dogs were especially pleased to see us! I think we were all a wee bit tired but at least I can get a good night's sleep, Lisa has to go to the Doughbox and Harry is off trucking again very early in the morning.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate Easter in such very good company.
