When I went on today they were both over the far side sitting on my computer chair, they both come back when I go in there which is good. At least I now know that Ivy is the correct name for the smallest of the bunch, lol!
I took her with Cindy_Lou to the SPCA today. Cindy-Lou had her second vaccination and I got Ivy's gender confirmed. I was again serenaded all the way to and from the SPCA.
While there I caught up with the other three babies and it was nice to see them come up to me and I had a huge purr from Frosty.
Magda seems to be a bit of a loner and was exploring on her own in the small outside area. It is hard for her to get back in as there is no step up to the cat door.
Apparently the three of them stick pretty much together. It was hard seeing them there and there are lots of kittens so not sure how adoption will go.
I then went and spent some time with Chrissy, she was in a cubby space but came out to see me and enjoyed her head and neck scratched.
Another cat growled at her and she responded in kind so can obviously take care of herself.
There are not a lot of adult cats so maybe she will get noticed with her unusual ears.
I might pop in again tomorrow when I go to the vets to pick Ivy up.
Back at the ranch, so to speak, they were happy to get out of the cage and run around. I left the door open and they had some good time playing tag up and down the passageway. I went on later and they were again over the far side, but no worries.
I spent some time with them and had to use the flash for photos as it was a gloomy day today. They played tag for a while then I got the yellow toy out and they jumped around chasing that. I suddenly remembered my laser so got that out and boy oh boy did they have a good time. Cindy-Lou in particular seems to love it, she even growled at Ivy a few times when Ivy got close, lol!!
In between whiles I got some cute photos and also managed a couple of videos. They were pretty tired after all this activity so I put them in their room for the night. Tomorrow is a big day for Ivy and I am not sure how she and Cindy-Lou will get on when she gets back, especially after what happened when the four got spayed.
At weight in today, Ivy was a real wriggle puss whereas Cindy-Lou sat nice and still for me. Ivy has dropped a wee bit of weight, possibly all the activity!! Cindy-Lou's colouring is getting more pronounced and she really is a very pretty cat.
Thursday's weights compared to arrival weight: Ivy (1010 +800), Cindy-Lou (1340, +1090)
Ivy cried most of the way to the Vet's but was quite relaxed when we arrived. I asked for her to be weighed just to check she was heavy enough, she only just made it!
Back home I took their area apart and enlarged it quite a bit. I have used the boards to try and keep them way from some books and underneath the computer desk, we will see. I have used some cardboard to protect some items I have on the dresser.
Through all the noise and disruption, Cindy-Lou remained very calm and did not run away as I expected she might do. She spent a lot of time on the top level of the bed and purred most of the time.
She is starting to come to me when I call her and is so much more relaxed. I still have to work on picking her up but she is improving all the time. She also found the bed they gave me at the SPCA, there was not room for it with five kittens but there is now especially as they nearly have the whole room!
When I returned to the Vet's to pick Ivy up, they told me she has such a wonderful personality, she was very vocal but loved being picked up and had lots of cuddles with everyone. They also told me she is an escape artist - lol I know all about that!
She cried all the way home and was trying to squeeze through the bars of the cage. She was still a wee bit wobbly but was not going to let it stop her. i took a few photos of her in the cage before I released her. Even though she cries when she is left on her own, I have put her in the bathroom for the night. She is such a one for starting fights and I would hate something to happen. Even when I had my shower, she cried at me, lol!! I did give her a supervised half an hour with Cindy-Lou and there was no growling from either side, phew! I will let her go in with Cindy-Lou tomorrow as I am going out for the afternoon/evening and she does need company, I am so pleased I kept Cindy-Lou back it is working well for both of them.
Unfortunately, it has also meant that I have lost my heart to both of them. I know I have said that I will not adopt because of the two I have but I am seriously considering whether I will adopt, if so, it would have to be both. I can set my house up so they are apart from Seb and Sylvie for as long as they need to be. When I carried the cage out today, Seb wanted to go outside at the same time and he totally ignored Ivy. I think she is the one more likely to be aggressive, lol! Seb and Sylvie knew there were kittens in the house once they got mobile as they were not exactly quiet. We could hear them at night time playing hard on their room. So I have some serious thinking to do and the question is, which will rule, my heart or my head, lol?
No weights today.
