Bunbury is 172 km south of Perth and on the coast so we followed the coast for most of the trip. There are many lovely spots with beautiful white sandy beaches and the clear blue Indian ocean.
The land developers are having a great time and there are so many new housing areas sprouting up in this part of Australia. We stopped at Mandurah for lunch and sat outside right beside an inlet of the ocean, It was fun to watch the boats as well as a guy balancing on a small water spout created by a jetski, I am not sure what it is called but it takes a really good sense of balance I am sure!!
After lunch and a coffee we headed on to Bunbury where we were to stay with Margaret's brother and his wife. As we approached Bunbury we saw lots of Kangaroos in the fields on our left, some had Joeys and there was a mix of age groups. We got to the general area but it had been a while and it took us half an hour to find the house, but finally we did, lol!!! The house is on a hill and has fab views from almost every window. After a nice cup of tea and a bit of a chat we got ready and headed the 28 km south to Capel where the party was being held.
I met quite a number of Margaret's large family, far too many to remember all the names!! It was a beautiful evening which made the outside gathering even better.
Many people were sleeping over so Tent City had soon became established at the bottom of the garden. It seems the local Mosquitos heard about the party too so it is just as well I had my strong insect repellent with me!
