Saturday September 14 (Rochester)

It was a beautiful day today following on from quite a good frost!! I was up earlier today as we were expecting Rose and her husband, Rich, were visiting for the morning. They arrived about 10 am and we had a lovely morning together,

They, of course, met the cats although Willow absented herself as she often will do. Ganache was the funniest, he just had to keep on sniffing for their cats!

We had a lovely lunch that Connie had prepared, Sloppy Joes and various side dishes as well as a delicious Chocolate cake she had baked!

Rose and Rich left about 1 pm after giving me an Apple Coffee cake. She said it was for breakfast but it only made it as far as afternoon tea, lol!! I really appreciated the fact that they drove the three and a half hours to visit as I managed to miss Rose at FFRC, thank you!.

I then did some ironing and packed my suitcase, we used the scales and 42 pounds came up a couple of times but other weights also showed. So Joe took it to his work to weigh and it is 42 pounds. I will be 8 pounds under weight, lol!!

Thanks Joe for the confirmation!

Joe then took me out to Silver Lake a beautiful area in the central north of Rochester within easy reach of Downtown. There are many water activities available as well as open areas for sports and, of course, walking/cycling trails. We took the loop that goes round the lake and paused to take photos along the way.

At one point we came across a group who were playing Kickball, this is like baseball but with a soccer ball. It was a very pleasant walk and we passed by groups of the same people as they were walking in the opposite direction. We also passed several runners, or rather they passed us, one couple ran four laps of the 1.8 mile loop!!

I shouted take away from the Texas Roadhouse over the road, we had ribs and baked potatoes with sweet corn that Joe purchased for a stall a wee bit earlier. The corn was scrumptious and
the rest of the meal was pretty good too. At one point Ganache shot through chasing Willow, she was NOT happy with him, so he had to serve a time out in the carrier!! I had to include photos of the beautiful stained glass window Joe made!
