We then caught the bus to Downtown Ottawa, it is about a 40 minute ride from Gatineau but stops right outside Diane's house so very convenient.
In New Zealand, they all share the one building, called the Beehive after its shape!!!
We also passed a statue of Queen Elizabeth sitting on the horse donated by the RCMP. There were a statues of four women at one point and I guess they represent when Canadian women got the vote!!
I also took photos of the Parliament Library. We then wandered round behind Parliament, it was very icy as the paths had not been cleared. As the sun was beginning to set it looked very beautiful. The eternal Peace Flame was alongside the building and more photos were taken. There is a ball on top of the World Exchange Plaza that is a Kinetic Sculpture and it's motion is related to the time of the day. The ball faces East to West and follows the sun.
After that we walked down to the market area and decided to have an early dinner at the Lone Star. The food is mostly Texan and Mexican and we both had Buffalo Wings, two different sauces. They were the best I have tasted in the North America! The servers were all dressed up as cowboys and cowgirls with the hats to complete their outfits. Even the restrooms were labelled Cowgirls and Cowboys, LOL!!
We finally caught the bus back home and we had some good views of Ottawa at night. then it was packing a few things for our trip to Montreal tomorrow and Tuesday.
