The Giant Owl Butterfly frightens its enemies with the "eye" marking on the wing that make it look more like a small owl.

I wandered around and these two young girls were seated and trying to get one of the Eclectus parrots, Little E, to sit on their arm. He was having none of it and was almost pecking them.

They then tried to stroke him, on entry we had been told not to touch any of the wild life.

Little E was not happy and moved slightly away from them. I went and sat down at the other end of the semi circular seat and started talking to him.

He gradually moved towards me and after a while hopped down onto the seat and onto my leg. From there, he used his beak to gently pull on or indicate where he wanted to go.

He spent a long time walking up and down my arms! I think I will be on a few random photos somewhere, one guy in a wheel chair did ask if he could take some!! Cherry and Jim arrived just as this was all happening!
After a while, I stood up to go and Little E flew off, it was such a wonderful experience! I carried on walking round and saw many different butterflies as well as the other fauna.

I walked back past the area where Little E had been and it was empty but he flew in so I sat down again and enjoyed further interactions with him. He was very gentle and never tried to peck at all.

One of the workers told me I was his type, lol! Cheryl and Jim wandered past and, after a while, I asked Cheryl if she would like him and Little E happily jumped on her arm. It certainly made the visit enjoyable for all of us!

On the way back we stopped at a Red Robin for an early tea. I was very impressed with the presentation and taste as well as the service. We had chosen well, time wise, as we were leaving there were people queuing to come in.

We then drove to Downtown and wandered round the harbour for a while. There was a very cool breeze blowing. We stopped so I could get a Starbucks coffee on the way back to the motel. I packed what I could ready for the off
tomorrow.
