Tuesday June 28 (Whistler to Victoria)

Just an additional note about yesterday, the height of the two terminals of the Peak2Peak Gondola is well over 6,000 feet while the 7th Heaven and Peak Express chair lifts go up to around 7,000 feet.

I had a good nights sleep and woke up well before the alarm sounded. I did my final packing, then went out for a coffee and some food. I was back well in time and as I came downstairs with my bag to check out the shuttle driver walked in, talk about timing, and he was a few minutes early! It was yet another gorgeous day. I was headed to Vancouver International Departures Air Canada to meet up with Cheryl and Jim.
We had real motor mouth on the shuttle bus. She sat up front and talked the whole trip apart from about ten minutes. Fortunately, I have my music back on my IPad so I put my ears in and was happy, lol! It was a great trip, some magnificent scenery and a lovely blue sky.

We Passed the spot in Sqamish where a person died on the weekend, they jump off the top of the high cliff and the parachute failed to open! People climb it and if using artificial adds it takes two days so they set up tents on the cliff face, we had seen one on the way up!

We were held up for ten minutes by road works on a piece of two way road. The other side, however, stretched back a long way with two lanes merging into one and would probably have been held up for at least half an hour.

We arrived at 12.30, so I was able to use the restroom and grab a coffee from a Starbucks inside the International Terminal. Jim and Cheryl arrived bang on 1 pm so all was good.

We stopped outside a Tim Hortons so we could make a reservation for the ferry, I discovered I was still connected to the Vancouver airport WiFi! The 3 pm ferry was full so we made reservations for the 4 pm
sailing.

We had a  great trip across on the ferry, the sea was as flat as a pancake, and there were some beautiful views. We finally found the motel, checked in and then looked for somewhere for dinner. I
too far away, but it was not a good choice and certainly a no second visit place! We then found a market for a few purchases for breakfast etc.

We drove downtown to have a look round  and it was fairly busy, there was a coolish breeze but the harbour looked good and the approaching sunset was throwing a lovely light everywhere. We drove back to the motel, purchasing a Starbucks along the way.
