Tuesday May 14 - Sunday May 19 (Boynton Beach)

Tuesday
Today was a day to rest and recuperate from the exertions of yesterday.

I did manage to do all my washing though. I also wrote the blog for yesterday's trip. I did forget to post a photo, not a good one, of a new casino that is built to look like a guitar!

I was enjoying the sunshine in the patio again this afternoon when a huge clap of thunder surprised me as it came from behind and not from the usual direction nor with the usual cloud build up. It thundered for a while and rained quite heavily.

Wednesday
I had intended to go for a walk but it was rather gloomy and did not want to risk it, lol!

Thursday
It was a lovely day again and I went out exploring a different way to walk to the north of us. It was a pleasant walk although raher warm. I then sat outside for a whille before showering.

We went out to the Cheesecake Factory at Boco Raton, to the south of Boynton Beach. We had quite a problem finding the ramp as the spaces for cars with disabled stickers were round the side away from the ramp and main entrance. The ramp was beyond the steps and there were no directions, not very good!

The meal was good and we both came home with dessert! I am very disappointed that they have stopped the Cherry Cheesecake, it was very good, nd now they make a huge number of fancy and very rich cheesecakes, unfortunately.

It was a lovely evening as we drove home, pleasantly mild and with a beautiful sky.

Friday
I went for another walk and explored the road to the south of us, I found out that what I thought was a dead end was not, lol!

The weather was very warm again and I sat outside after my walk.

Saturday
It was another lovely day, although some cloud around this afternoon.

I did my final wash for this trip so will not have to do too much at home. I sat in the patio and saw a man paddling a Kayak wih a dog on board!! He turned away so was not able to get a great photo.

I did check the weather in Napier and it is not supposed to rain until the end of next week (yeah, right!), the temperatures are set to be in the low 60's which is not bad for early winter.

I made my omelette for tea and it was very tasty, again! Before tea I paced my bags and there is not much more to pop in, 😿

I happened to be outside chatting to Abby when I looked round and saw a gorgeous moon rising over the trees on the other side of the water.

It was a beautiful pinkish colour!!

As I watched, it rose quite quickly and, at one point, there were three narrow layers of cloud across the face of the moon.

it did not take long for the moon's reflection to appear on the water! I will sure miss nights like this and living this close to the water!

Sunday
I had a lazy start and just before we went out I noticed a couple of the larger green lizards on the boardwalk, lol! It is tough taking photos through the patio screen! It was yet another lovely day!

We headed off about 12.45 as I was taking Jackie out for lunch at the Red Lobster. Before heading there I had to withdraw funds to purchase some lottery tickets for Grant, my flat mate. I then also had to buy the tickets, which I did at a Publix near to where I withdrew the funds. I cannnot believe how greedy the banks are to charge for ATM withdrawals especially when my card is a Debit card that can be used as a Credit card, ie I can only use it if there are enough funds on it!

The Red Lobster was busy but we did not have to wait although the service was rather slow. Another server took our order for drinks and we then had the gorgeous bisciuits to eat, i do love them! We eventually had our salad and then some more biscuits with our entrees. We both ordered from the "Choose any Two" part of the menu. I ordered shrimp and flounder. It was delicious although I had to send the flounder back for heating up as it was nearly cold. They obviously cooked that too soon!

On the way home I grabbed a coffee at Starbucks, a small one as I was full from my meal, lol!

At home, I changed, put a few more items in my bags and then went out onto the patio for a few hours. Towards evening, a lovely breeze came in from the water and cooled the day down pleasantly.

I saw the very first boat under sail that I have seen in all the weeks, it was not very large and was almost becalmed when a larger boat went by rather fast and created a big wake!

However it soon picked up steam again, it was not very windy but there was enough breeze to sail by. Much later I saw it returning under its engine, lol!

I also saw one of the few pontoon boats and managed to get a photo to share with Steve who also owns one.

We had a wonderful day out on his and he let me drive for quite a way on our return trip.

After a shower, I packed almost the final few items, not much was left for tomorrow morning. I have had a wonderful time here, chilling out beside the water, going for some walks and some lovely trips on the weekends. I would really like to thank Jackie so much for putting me up, putting up with me and treating me to some lovely meals and great trips! I have also enjoyed Abby's company, she is a real character and loves being stroked round her face and neck!
