Friday August 17 & Saturday August 18 (Stryker)

Friday
It was another warm humid day today with plenty of sunshine.

Lisa and Harry went to the Dirt Road Flea Market to collect some items, including a ceramic wreath, and have a look at others. They then went on to visit a place in Michigan where a woman had some Christmas trees for Lisa.

That sort of thing is not my cup of tea so I stayed home with the animals. The drier was not heating up so Harry fixed it after he came home from trucking and before they went out.

I was then able to do my final washing. I went out for a walk later before doing my ironing and starting my packing.

Just as Lisa and Harry arrived home the weather changed, black clouds came rolling in and the wind started blowing.

In the photos the clouds do not look as black as they actually were. we had some heavy rain as well as some thunder.

Lisa had to give poor Bruno a pill to calm him down as he was very nervous, this meant he was zonked out for the evening, lol!

Lisa made some Kebabs for tea and cooked them on the BBQ in the barn. They were really delicious and she cooked the mushrooms separately as I do not like them, so nice of her!

After tea, when it was dark I switched the house lights off and took photos of some of the Christams trees, they looked rather spectacular. It is Christmas every day here, lol!

I had earlier taken a photo of the tree that Lisa brought back from North Carolina on three boxes in a very full car, lol! It is the largest tree she has.

Saturday
I have to say that for the last ten days or so my sleep pattern has improved somewhat. I am sleeping through for about six hours, not as much as I normally get but much better than I was previously sleeping!

It was again a warm humid day with some sunshine, lol! We were to have ribs for tea so Lisa put them in the oven to cok very slowly. Lisa and Harry needed some things from Defiance so they headed off after lunch. They dressed independently but this is what happened, lol, who would have thought!!

I stayed back with the animals again and went for a walk before finishing my packing with only a few items left for Sunday morning.

When Lisa and Harry returned home, Lisa took the ribs out and coated them in BBQ sauce for another hour of cooking. They were absolutely delicious and all the bones came out totally clean of meat. The meat was so very tender and tasty!!

After tea, Harry put my case in the back of the Jeep to save Lisa having to do that in the morning. It would be easy to out my final items in there.

Before going to bed I decided to check up on the train whihc leaves Boston just after lunch the day before I need to catch it. What a shock I got, it left Boston over three hours late, something must have happened!! This meant I would be checking the train any time I woke up and would probably not have to get up so early, lol!
