Monday October 30 (Boston) Part 1

I hardly slept last night, too much on my mind! My plans for getting back into Boston from Burlington on Sunday, have gone up in smoke and there is no public transport on the weekend.

A taxi would be about $70 and the shuttle wanted $90, yikes!!
Jennifer Thorne has come to the rescue, we are actually having dinner on Wednesday and she is going to help me out on Sunday, bless her!

Well, after the weather man let me down yesterday, this morning looked as if it would happen again. However, by lunchtime the sun was on its way out and the cloud was disappearing.

It was however, very windy and it was difficult to actully walk into the wind it was so strong. That reminded me very much of Wellington in New Zealand.

In the morning, I headed over to the Prudential Centre, five minutes walk from my hotel, walked all the way through and then round the Ring Road back to my hotel.

There are some very up-market shops, such as Gucci and Saks, with lots of fancy eateries and wine shops as well as a couple of "normal" cafes, lol!

Back at the hotel, a couple and their very young daughter were waiting for their room to be available, they were from Brisbane Australia although the guy came originally from New Zealand.
I went back after lunch and headed for the SkyWalk, it only cost me $15 and I was able to return in time for sunset.

I also spoke to some people who came from near Edinburgh in Scotland, lol! Some of the information is about becomng an American and there is a lot of history thrown in.
The sunset was truly magnificent but I could suggest a couple of improvements to the SkyWalk.

First, have some labels along the way so visitors can get an idea of what they are looking at.

Secondly, in the evening turn all the TVs etc off and have subdued lighting. many photos did not turn out very well because of the reflections
I am pleased I was staying in a hotel so close to the Centre so it did not take me long to return to base, start my packing, have a shower and eat tea.

The rest of the pictures will be found in a second blog for Monday.
