Thursday August 3 (Okemos to Chicago)

It was a gorgeous morning once again and I was up early, as the train left at 8.45 am, to start the long trip home. I ate breakfast and packed the last couple of items. We left in plenty of time and arrived at the station to see huge crowds of people. once we left Kalamazoo we were informed there was not an empty seat on the train, lol! When we stopped at New Buffalo, we had to stop twice, obviously a short station, and we caused quite a traffic holdup, lol!

The train was 65 minutes late into Chicago but i still went to the Legacy Club. The lady in charge helped me with my luggage so I could catch the shuttle which, of course, was 15 minutes late!! The traffic to O'Hare was heavy but moving steadily until the rains came, then we crawled, lol, that trip took 75 minutes and it can be done in 40!!! We arrived where the hotel shuttles stop and there was one for my hotel standing there, never had that happen before, lol! The traffic along Mannheim Road was super heavy, never seen it that bad, not sure why it is like this today!!!!

Finally, I arrived at the hotel, tired but pleased to be there although I was feeling rather sad at the thought of leaving, more so than usual, not entirely sure why!!

I want to thank Barbara Witte Craig and Rick McDonald for putting me up and putting up with me............again! I have enjoyed my stay and spent some quality time with the animals, especially Fluffy! The highlight was the trip to a South Haven, that was fun as well as very interesting.
