Tuesday July 18 - Thursday July 20 (Port Orchard & Gig Harbour)

Tuesday
It was another lovely day, again, lol!!

I spent most of the day downloading photos and writing my blog. I had written much of it up using Notes on my IPad but I still had to check and complete them.

Wednesday
No change to the weather apart from early cloud that burnt off about 11 am. I put my washing in the washer and left it while we took the two dogs for another walk along the road opposite the end of the drive. Serenity was so excited to go but it was not that far when she sat down and did not want to go any further. However, Cheryl managed to persuade her to carry on, lol.

On the way back we saw a guy burning some stuff and due to the dry weather no burning is allowed. Nearing the end of the walk we saw a fire engine turn into the road and come towards us, someone had obviously reported the smoke.

Back home I put my washing into the dryer and I sat outside for an hour to eat my late lunch and read, it was very pleasant. I then helped Cheryl with a challenge she has, she needs to convert the church logo form a jpg into an embroidery file. There were different suggestions about how to do this. finally, I downloaded a program called Sewart which has a 30 day demo. Later in the evening, Cheryl had some success although the smaller text was not 100%, she may need a higher res image.

Later in the afternoon, I took some photos of the dogs and then an eagle flew into the pine tree just outside the back door, it stayed there for some time so it was a good photo op!

I then did my ironing and then had a quick shower before we went out for tea at Shari's Pies.

It was my turn to shout Cheryl and Jim for once again allowing me to share their home. Of course, I must not forget the time we spent visiting various events and the trip to Oregon. for my free slice of pie I had the Marion Berry, not too bad at all, lol! On the way home, we did some shopping at a few places and I even managed a coffee from you know where! I half way packed and will finish that tomorrow.

Thursday
It was a bit cooler this morning with some cloud but it did warm up later.

We had to take Gracie to the vet for some shots and she now weighs 33.5 pounds at 4 months old. She looks a bit skinny but has such long legs and has certainly grown since I have been here. She met two dogs there and growled at a gorgeous large dog who is obviously getting on in years and would not hurt a fly, the poor dog looked quite offended.

We then drove along the Purdy Spit but could not see how to get down to the beach so we drove to the Gig Harbour to try and find one. Most of the good areas are taken up by the Marina and we walked around with no luck. Cheryl asked a fellow who was fishing and he told us of a small beach we could go to not far away.

We found this and Gracie had a few paddles, this is all new to her, walking in public with all the strange noises and paddling in sea water! At one point she had walked on a small, rectangular manhole cover and frightened herself, lol!

She was very good n the car, sitting or lying quietly, she has troubles getting in and out as it is high up and she has not yet worked out how to get from the seat to the floor and then down as their is not much room!

We had to fill up with petrol on the way home at Fred Mayer so I could go inside and get a coffee!! Back home and I had a late lunch with my coffee then it was time to get my blog up to date. I also checked in for my flight tomorrow and then it was time to finish my packing!
