Sunday May 14 & Monday May 15 (Fort Myers)

Sunday
Today was a washing/ironing kind of day today, I had quite a bit to do, lol! The weather  was unchanged from what has become the norm!

So why the photo of the two coins? This represents today's senior moment!

So I went down to the laundry to do my washing, I found out yesterday that it was $1.50 to wash and the same to dry. I put the powder in then my clothes, shut the door and put the coins in three slots, nothing happened.

After a few attempts I went to reception and after a bit of a discussion she asked me how many quarters I had put in! Ouch, the penny dropped, my mind had done a 180 and thought I was in NZ!

As you can see the US quarter and the NZ fifty cent piece are the same size! I was putting three coins in when I should have been putting six in, lol! Much embarrassed I explained and returned to the laundry, it worked this time round!

While my clothes were washing I went into the Exercise Room and cycled for half an hour.

Later, I sat out on the balcony and read for about half an hour, it was lovely. then it was time to do my ironing, of which I had rather a lot, lol!! As the sun set, I took a couple of photos from the balcony!

Monday
I caught the bus that stops across the road to a shopping centre and had a wander round. I then had a coffee before catching the bus back. While I was in Starbucks, this older guy was talking to an Asian lady and they were sharing information about each other, he was loud so it was hard not to listen, lol! It made for some interesting imaginations!!

As I have to catch a taxi to the place where the Amtrak Through Bus leaves from today was a bit of a dry run. It is quite a trip from the hotel to the bus stop so I will catch the bus from the hotel to the shopping centre at the cost of 75 cents and then get the taxi to pick me up at the centre. The bus stop has a shelter and the taxi driver knows where it is!.

Cypress Lake Drive must be the church centre of Fort Myers. There was a Greek Orthodox, it was next to a Presbyterian thenwe passed a Redeemer followed by a United Methodist, and that was just one side of the road and those I could see the names of, lol! Most of them were huge.

I popped into the Lumix to get a couple more bottles of water and then it was back to the hotel to do my packing. I also made sandwiches for tomorrow as there is no dining car on the Silver Star and I really do not feel like eating from the cafeteria. I then spent another half hour on the balcony followed by half another half an hour on the exercise bike.

Then it was back to my room to update the blog, take a shower and have tea.
