The adventure continued.........
Friday
I arrived at O'Hare with plenty of time to check in. It was just as well, lol, as the system kept telling me there was no ticket in my name. I had assistance from an agent and it took her five minutes to finally get co-operation, phew.
Then I moved on to TSA PRE and I had to go through the main scanner as some patches showed up but I was all clear. Then I saw my back pack was at the back after passing through that scanner, I asked the TSA person there, she told me it had to be checked and then she just walked away!! Eventually, I asked someone else, he was very nice and SILLY ME, I had left my water in my pack!! Grrrr at myself, lol! He was so nice about it, a pleasure to deal with him!
I spent time in the UA lounge waiting for the flight to Houston, and was hoping there would be no "I have a problem Houston!" moments, lol!
After a great flight from Chicago, I went to the UA lounge nearest the terminal I was departing from. The land around Houston looked very dry, the grass was mostly brown. It was 80 F there today! I did manage my usual Baileys and ice but it was not a free one, lol!!
Sunday
The flight to Auckland left about 25 minutes late but it did not add to the journey time of 14 and a half hours! I had managed to get an upgrade to Business Class and a lie flat bed, thank goodness as I was able to get between 5 and 6 hours sleep on and off. There were some bumpy patches but that is commonplace over the equator and with the jet stream.

Saturday disappeared somewhere over the pacific and we arrived on time to a cloudy, mild day. On the way in I managed a photo of the start of the sunrise as well as part of Auckland waking up to the new day.
After Waiting in the Regional Lounge for an hour or so it was tie to board the plane to Napier. It left a wee bit late but arrived on time in spite of some turbulence along the way, Grant was there to meet me.

I got a wonderful welcome home from Seb, he would not leave me alone. He had been very good for Grant and now had the run of the house.
I stripped my bed and put everything into the wash as it was a windy day and a good drying day. I then showered , changed and went out to the Super Market to purchase a few essentials.
I did not go to bed during the day, it helps me to get my sleeping pattern back to normal!
Monday - Wednesday
When I woke up on Monday, Seb did not get up and when I stroked him he cried in pain, his rear half was very sore. I felt a bump on his spine one third of the way up from his tail. He only wanted to sleep so I rang the vet but she could only see him on Tuesday. He brightened up a wee bit later the day and managed to eat some salmon, I had opened a tin for him as he likes it.
On Tuesday he was somewhat better and at least could walk around although he was obviously still in some discomfort he was not as sore when I stroked him. He could not jump so I placed a footstool by the bed so he could climb up. The Vet Hospital fang to say my vet had operations all day and could I take Seb in tomorrow, grrrr!!
So to Wednesday and we finally got to see the vet, I have never seen the place so busy. It turns out Seb has an abscess from a cat fight!!! He must have somehow managed to get out on Sunday early evening when I thought he was upstairs, he is such an escapologist!!
He was booked in to have a cyst removed next Tuesday but the vet does not want to leave him over the weekend so she is going to operate on him on Friday. I will take him along early so he can be on a drip prior to the operation, this is due to his age. He is wearing a slow release pain patch on his rear leg and is on Cloud Nine!!
I suspect his soreness on Monday was not only due to the bites but also he must have been shaken up and bruised from the fight.
