I had another good night’s sleep and after I had eaten breakfast
MJ arrived home from the Post Office.

I managed to get some photos of Guinness, he really is a big boy and Henry, the latter after he had been sprayed to stop him licking, he was not
a happy chappy, lol!! I also saw one of the outside cats, Moose, and managed to catch him.

We then headed out to an Ice Cream factory at Brenham. It
was a very cool day, might even say cold but not in comparison with what lies
ahead in Chicago, lol!! It was quite windy and that made it feel cooler.

We drove through horse and cattle country on the way to the
factory. We arrived at the visitor centre and immediately inside was an original Doctors Buggy from the 1920's. We discovered that the tours are
not running at present so we settled for a scoop of Ice Cream, only $1 for quite a
large scoop. I had the Strawberry and it was very tasty. The brand is Blue Bell
Ice Cream, it is smooth and creamy mostly due to the fact that the milk comes from
Jersey cows.
We wandered round further and saw some of the history of the
factory as well as photo that showed the stages involved in producing the ice
cream. There were a couple of neat sculptures outside including one of a young girl with a wooden bucket
leading a cow.
We headed home, passing a huge ranch along the way, and arrived in good time just as Bob was putting
the roast in the oven, when it was cooked we had a very tasty tea and then I
continued writing the blog. i completed it in bed as the pictures were being very slow to load!!
