Saturday June 25 (Whistler)

I did not sleep last night when I went to bed, this often happens the first night of a trip! So I was up early and out for breakfast at 7.30, those who know me know this is very early for me, lol! It was a cool morning again with plenty of cloud around, it looked as if there had been rain overnight. I found a couple of places for breakfast but neither was that flash, I chose one of them but will try somewhere else tomorrow. I had to listen to this arrogant man (probably English) telling his female companion that a company he was applying to work for would not find anyone better than him and he carried on in that vein for quite a while, some people, lol!!

I walked round for a couple of hours and then returned to my hotel room falling asleep for three hours, lol!! I felt a wee bit out of it so eventually freshened up. I then took a photo of a view similar to that I took last night and went out for a walk to find the Valley Trail.

I walked some way along, almost all the way round one end of the golf course, and then turned round to head to the village for an early tea. A young lad, maybe 13/14, came up and asked if I knew where we were. I always carry a map so I showed him, poor guy, after some discussion we realised he was going in the opposite direction to the hotel he was looking for. He thanked me and ran off to find his dad who had gone on ahead, lol!!

They caught up with me and it turns out they are for Australia, NSW, Fancy that - a Kiwi helping an Aussie, lol!! We walked back together and I gave them my map so, hopefully, they would not get lost again! They were very grateful as we made our farewells.
Whistler was very busy by then and I was lucky to get seated at the Old Spaghetti Factory without having to wait. The food is good and plentiful and well priced!!
I wandered through a few shops on the way back to the hotel and had a chat to a New Zealander working in one of them. There are many people from all over the world on holiday and/or working here. The village was specifically designed as a Ski Resort so everything is very close together. It is pretty much Hotels, Restaurants and Souvenir Shops. I tried to imagine what it would look like in the winter. In summer, it becomes what seems like the cycle capital of the world, lol, there are lots of different trails and hundreds of bikes around!!!
