Sunday October 18 (Cincinnati)

I had a really deep sleep and woke up abut 9.30 am, a bit late but I felt much refreshed. I took a few photos of the inside "well" in the hotel. I then wandered out to find a nearby Starbucks and also grabbed a pastry from the Panera shop over the road from the hotel, this was breakfast!

I then wandered around downtown Cincinnati for a while and purchased a few small souvenirs. There are many shops closed up and quite a few homeless folk around, in some areas. I ended up at Fountain Square and it was a pity the fountain was not going but there were quite a few people out watching the Cincinnati game on a huge screen on top of the building opposite. I managed to take a photo with a Cincinnati touchdown in it, lol, and they did eventually win the game!!

I purchased a Graeter's ice cream then wandered back to my hotel to work on my blog. As I was doing this, I got a text from Lisa telling me to meet them at El Coyote's for an early dinner. I tried to use Uber but it won't accept my card so I had to hail a taxi instead. I will check with Uber when I get home to see what the issue is.

The taxi driver was a good guy and asked me if I wanted to go the back roads or not. I just wanted the cheapest route as I knew it was a 20 minute plus ride.

We went the back roads and it was a very pretty drive alongside the river and then through lots of wooded areas. The trees are only just starting to take on their fall colours here.

The rest of the party were already at El Coyote so I quickly joined them. It was a lovely meal in he very best of company and it was all paid for by Lisa's brother Joe, so very kind of him. After the meal, we went back to Joe and Lynda's and saw his two modern cars, a dark navy Jaguar and a red Corvette, very racy!! I then had a tour of the house, a lovely home with plenty of space on three levels.

Lynda then drove me back to my hotel and on the way we took a few detours to see some of the sights. Lisa came along for the drive as well. Then it was emotional farewells at the hotel and I went back to my room. I worked on my blog and just have pictures to upload into it. This evening was a fitting finale to a great holiday and a wonderful wedding.
