Tuesday March 24 - Friday March 27

Tuesday
This was very quiet day after an interrupted night due to New Zealand playing South Africa in the semi final of the Cricket World Cup, back in New Zealand! The game started at 9 pm here and I watched some of the game via a streaming site on the internet before I went to sleep. The game was in the balance when I left it with SA beginning to accelerate their scoring rate to set NZ a large target.

I woke up just after 3 am and decided to check on the state of affairs as the NZ reply would be well under way. However, there had been a two hour rain break and the NZ innings had only just started. They had to score 298 off 43 overs, a healthy target. I followed the game on the WCC app for the event and the emotions ebbed and flowed as first one side then the other seemed to be on top.

I think it was about 6.30 am ET when finally, on the second last ball of the game, a six was hit to win NZ the game and send them into the final. It was ironic that the player who did this was himself born in South Africa and did not come to NZ until 2001. The 40,000 + crowd in Auckland was incredible and made it a wonderful occasion, the cricket was amazing and it was one of the best games of any World Cup!!

I went back to sleep and so my body clock is again out of kilter!!

Wednesday

Another quiet day, I did manage a couple of photos of a handsome, 14 year old Niko. In the early evening, we were off to the Ten Pin Bar in Ridgeville Corners with Karleen and Lori.

I set off a bit early so I could walk some way down the road until Lisa picked me up!!

We had a great evening, the owners of the bar even remembered me so lots of fun. No other customer has visited from so far away, lol!! The food is cheap but good and the drinks are not over-priced. It is a typical small American Country Bar!

Thursday
There was some more snow this morning but it soon dispersed and the weather was a wee bit less cold. Australia beat India in the second semi final so will meet New Zealand in the final in Melbourne. It will mean I have to pull an all nighter on Saturday night as the game begins at 11.30 pm, ET. It will be a tough challenge for NZ and I hope they an keep their wonderful form going into the game. They have played in seven semi-finals but this is their first final.

Later in the afternoon I went for a walk to where the road meets a slightly more major road. It was very brisk and by the time I returned home I had received the cold air on all four side of me, lol!!

After dinner I went to bed to try and get some sleep as I was heading to the Doughbox once more with Lisa. we were due to leave at 11 pm.

Friday
I had a great night at the Doughbox with lots of laughs and I helped make a wide variety of products.

I was pleased that, from my previous visits, I remembered many of the ways they make the items.

Lisa took a photo of the crew with some naked doughnuts arrayed before us! There is also a photo of me waiting for the next task and then working with Vanessa on Twisties!

Lisa does all the baking and spend most of the night working in front of the hot oven.
The final pictures show Monster Cookies before and after!! I have no idea how many scoops of different cokkies we processed, lol!!

I got home and after a shower I managed about four hours of sleep.

In the afternoon, we went shopping for some groceries and then we went to the Friday Fish Fry with Karleen and Lori at the K of C Hall in Archbold.

This is a very popular event held on Fridays and they were very busy. It is not very warm today, 26 F this afternoon, and is supposed to drop to 16 overnight, wish that was on the C scale!!

I plan an early night tonight to catch on some sleep!

I often find either of both of Enzo, who snores, and Bruno (the dogs) "guarding" me as I sleep and Guido will often sleep with me. Niko has been very friendly this time round and often comes for me to scratch his head and lower back, although he prefers people to use their feet!! All four animals are characters and I love spending time with them.
