I popped in to check on them last night, which I always do, and Chrissy was on the top level of the tree, never seen her there before. she was tired, why am I not surprised!!
When I went in this morning, I could only count four kittens and then Cindy-Lou appeared on the far side!! She was balancing and was easy to catch. On later visits, they were sleeping as per usual.
I went to the SPCA to collect their health records for the vet next week and discovered why I had originally thought Ivy (ex Rudi) was a male, the SPCA had him/her marked as male, lol!! I had a good look and if it is a Rudi then his parts are well hidden, lol!!
I still think Rudi is an Ivy but the vet will surely be able to tell me. I might take Ivy/Rudi along next week and get them to have a look.
When I went in for my extended visit, later than usual so the light had to be on, I decided to leave the "door" to their area open, it does not give them more space but they might not try to escape.
I also placed a box in their area and they included this in their play. They all turned into lunatics, lol, dashing back and forth, pairs chasing each other and the pairs changing! Poor Chrissy lay on the printer and just watched with a bemused look on her face.
Finally, I decided to try and weigh them. instead of on the floor I grabbed each one when I could and weighed them on top of the small filing desk. It was not an easy task but they 'sort of' co-operated!
While I was weighing them Ivy kept coming to my feet and crying, she wanted me to pick her up and give her cuddles, of course I obliged her, so very sweet. She is fluffy but when you hold her you realise what a light frame she has.
I left them just as they were starting to quieten down. It is not wonder they sleep so long when they play like that!
Thursday's weights compared to arrival weight: Magda (1055, +810), Naza (1185, +925, Ivy (845 +635), Frosty (1050, +780), Cindy-Lou (1150, +880)
When I went in this morning, Chrissy was on top of the tree again. They swap positions quite a bit though!!
The kittens slept a lot today as seems to be the norm. I did manage to weigh them when they were a bit more active but not active enough to be difficult to pick up for weighing. I have been picking them up a lot and Magda is still not a fan but she does sit more quietly now.
There is one thing that cats are really good at, trying out a clean litter box, lol!! The kittens were true to form and all five of them used the clean box as soon as it was put in their area.
Chrissy continues to growl big time at them but she then allowed them to nurse at least twice today.
Friday's weights compared to arrival weight: Magda (1050, +805), Naza (1200, +940, Ivy (855 +645), Frosty (1055, +790), Cindy-Lou (1155, +885)
