I visited with the kittens twice today and had some quality time with them. Somehow, I have to get them used to loud noises, they run like crazy when they hear one!! Trouble is my house is generally quiet although I do vacuum but have not taken it in their room yet.
On the first visit, Magda was asleep at the end of the bed until one of the others woke her up, I just caught the wake up! Ivy cuddled up with mum while Magda then decided to weigh herself.
As I was in there for over an hour on my first visit, things changed quite a bit so we had Ivy falling asleep on my leg and then a bit later Cindy-Lou gave me my usual pedicure.
Right at the end of the first visit, three of them found the milk bar and their ears were flapping, lol!! Magda decided to sleep it out but Cindy-Lou was interested in what was going on!!
At my next visit, we had the great escape by Naza. Chrissy was on the other side and all the kittens knew. It seems I must move the larger litter box as he used that to aid his jump.
It was good to be in there so I could see exactly what goes down when they escape, lol.
When I sit in with them I think they see me as some great Amusement Park for them to play in, they are all over me, literally!!
I did manage to catch a lovely photo of Chrissy before I finally left.
Their weights are continuing to increase and tomorrow I think I will ring the SPCA and book four of them in for their vaccinations on Thursday week, they need to be 800 gms. I know Ivy will not make that by then but the rest should!
Monday's weights compared to arrival weight: Magda (680, +435), Naza (730, +470), Ivy (550, +340), Frosty (755, +490), Cindy-Lou (715, +445)
Well I am not sure whether I am raising five sweet kittens or five wild animals!! Late last night I popped in for my pre-bedtime check and they had just woken up.
I sat and watched them for twenty minutes and they were zooming everywhere, all five of them! I suddenly realised that the square metal handles on the desk could be a hazard to zooming kittens so I grabbed a screwdriver and removed the handle to the bottom two drawers.
This morning when I went in to check on them, they were at it again, lol!! My friend popped in to collect some things and the four girls visited the kittens. Ivy will go to anyone and loves being cuddled but the rest are very shy of other people so it was good education for them. Once they get in the kitten room at the SPCA I am sure they will improve rapidly.
I went back to the room a bit later and they were obviously planning some sort of escape, lol. Quite a bit of to-ing and fro-ing and lots of looking at each other. Magda and Cindy-Lou seemed to be the instigators.
Cindy-Lou then decided to attack Chrissy's tail and it did not go down very well at all.
Weights continue to increase nicely and they are booked in for their vaccinations on Thursday week. Four of them should be ready then along with Chrissy while Ivy will go along for the ride so she is not left on her own. A couple of them would probably make it by this Thursday but I don't want to be going backwards and forwards to the SPCA.
Tuesday's weights compared to arrival weight: Magda (695, +450), Naza (760, +500), Ivy (580, +370), Frosty (780, +515), Cindy-Lou (725, +455)
